Screened Bottom Board

A durable, high-quality bottom board featuring a heavy-duty mesh floor. This design improves hive ventilation and assists with Varroa mite management, as mites that fall through the screen are unable to crawl back up into the colony. It also includes a removable tray for easy debris monitoring and mite counts. 

• Pro-Tip for Northern Ontario: During the peak of a Northern Ontario summer, the increased airflow helps the bees regulate hive temperature and cure honey more efficiently. However, we recommend sliding the closure tray back in or using a solid bottom board for the winter months to help the cluster retain heat and block the biting northern winds.
