Drone Frame

A specialized green-coded frame and foundation set designed to encourage the bees to build larger drone-sized cells. This is a highly effective, non-chemical tool used primarily for Varroa mite management and for beekeepers looking to improve local genetics by raising high-quality drones. 

• Pro-Tip for Northern Ontario: Since Varroa mites prefer to breed in drone brood, you can "trap" them by removing this frame once it is capped and placing it in a freezer for 48 hours. In Northern Ontario, this is an excellent way to keep mite levels low during the summer honey flow without using chemical treatments that could affect your harvest.
