California Queen Cage

The California Queen Cage is a professional-grade wooden cage used for the safe transport and introduction of queens. It features a thin wire mesh for ventilation and a pre-drilled hole for a sugar-candy plug, which allows for a slow, controlled release as the worker bees eat through the candy to accept their new queen. 

• Pro-Tip for Northern Ontario: When introducing a new queen during the variable spring weather of Northern Ontario, we recommend placing the cage between two frames of capped brood. This ensures the queen stays within the warmth of the cluster, providing her with the best environment for a successful acceptance and a strong start to the season.
